Material EPS (often also called Styropor) is a type of plastic material that is made by suspension polymerisation, which would result-shaped grains round with a diameter of ± 0.5 - 2 mm.
In the grains round EPS is contained gas divided homogeneous. Grains will swell when heated and a lightweight, elastic and has the power sending a low heat.
The benefits of this material is EPS :
- Heat insulator, which is very good.
- Very lightweight (Bulk density between 15 to 25 kg/m3)
- Easily processed into forms of finished goods.
- Relatively resistant to chemicals that are acid/basa.
- For acoustical materials/soundproof.
- Because of relatively resistant characteristics elastisnya (Shock Absorber).
Application of EPS ;
- Packaging such as a cool box for the shrimp/fish, mounting an (Shock Absorber) to the radio, TV, Fridge and other goods, which easily broken, for packaging and other toys.
- Heat insulation materials, such as a wall to cool storage space on the installation of insulation and other AC.
- Building materials such as concrete as the mixture to light, partition wall, components, construction and other foundation.
- Cleaning & display: Letter board, and others.
- Patron for mold and model making.
- Float the ship, and other safety helmets.
